This page explains what information Shotcall GG (shotcall.gg) collects when you visit, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We are a small, independent competitive gaming and esports site, so we have kept this short and in plain English.

The Short Version

  • We do not ask you to create an account to read this site.
  • Our web server keeps standard technical logs, like almost every website does.
  • We use a small number of cookies, and partners we work with (such as analytics or advertising providers) may set their own.
  • Embedded videos and social posts can let those platforms see that you visited.
  • Tools on this site that say they run in your browser do exactly that. What you type into them stays on your device.
  • We do not sell your personal data.
  • You can ask us what we hold about you and ask us to delete it.

Who “We” Are

“We”, “us” and “this site” mean Shotcall GG, the independent website at shotcall.gg. When this policy mentions “you”, it means anyone visiting or using the site.

Information Collected Automatically

Server logs

When your browser loads a page, our hosting server records basic technical details about the request. This typically includes:

  • your IP address
  • the date and time of the request
  • the page or file requested
  • the referring page, if your browser sends one
  • your browser type, operating system and device type

We use these logs to keep the site running, fix errors, understand load, and spot abuse such as spam, scraping or attacks. We do not use server logs to build profiles of individual readers.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies include local storage and tracking pixels. We group them like this:

Type What it does Set by
Essential Keeps the site working, remembers settings such as your cookie choices or display preferences This site
Analytics Counts visits and shows which pages are popular, how people arrive, and roughly where they are (country or region level) This site or an analytics provider
Advertising Shows ads, limits how often you see the same ad, measures ad performance, and in some cases personalises ads Advertising partners

Essential cookies are needed for the site to function. Where the law requires your consent for analytics or advertising cookies, we will ask before setting them, and you can change your mind at any time through the cookie settings on this site, if shown, or through your browser.

Analytics and Advertising Partners

This site may use third-party services to measure traffic and to show ads that help pay for the site. These providers may collect information such as your IP address, device identifiers, browser details and the pages you view, and they may use cookies to recognise your browser across different websites.

These partners process that information under their own privacy policies. Where we use them, we choose settings that limit data collection where possible, such as shortening or anonymising IP addresses for analytics.

If personalised advertising is used, you can usually opt out through:

  • the consent or cookie settings on this site
  • your browser’s privacy settings
  • the ad settings in your Google, Apple or other platform account
  • industry opt-out tools offered by advertising associations in your region

Opting out of personalised ads does not remove ads. It means the ads you see will be less tailored to you.

Embedded Content From Other Sites

Articles on this site may include embedded content such as YouTube or Twitch videos, posts from X, Reddit, Instagram or TikTok, or other media from third-party platforms.

Embedded content behaves as if you had visited the other site directly. That platform may:

  • set its own cookies
  • collect data about you, including your IP address
  • track your interaction with the embed
  • link that activity to your account if you are logged in to it

We do not control what these platforms collect. If you want to limit this, log out of those services before browsing, use your browser’s tracking protection, or block third-party cookies.

Tools That Run in Your Browser

Some pages on this site offer interactive tools, such as calculators, converters or planners. Where a tool states that it runs in your browser, the calculations happen on your own device. The values you enter are not sent to our server and we do not store them.

Some tools may save your inputs in your browser’s local storage so they are still there when you return. That data stays on your device, and you can clear it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for shotcall.gg.

If a tool ever needs to send data to a server to work, we will say so clearly on that tool’s page.

Information You Choose to Send Us

If you contact us through a contact form or by email, we receive whatever you include, such as your name, email address and message. We use it only to reply and to deal with your request. We do not add you to a mailing list unless you explicitly sign up for one.

If we offer a newsletter in the future, signing up will be optional, every email will include an unsubscribe link, and this policy will be updated to describe the provider we use.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • run, maintain and secure the site
  • understand which content readers find useful so we can improve it
  • show ads and measure how they perform, where ads are used
  • respond to messages you send us
  • comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

We Do Not Sell Your Personal Data

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We share information only with service providers who help us run the site (such as hosting, analytics and advertising partners), and only as far as needed for them to provide that service, or where the law requires it.

Some privacy laws treat certain advertising cookies as “sharing” data even when no money changes hands. Where those laws apply to you, you can opt out using the cookie settings on this site or a browser signal such as Global Privacy Control, which we aim to respect where it is technically supported by our partners.

How Long We Keep Data

We keep information only as long as we need it:

  • Server logs: kept for a limited period, usually a few weeks, then deleted or overwritten. Logs may be kept longer if needed to investigate a security incident or abuse.
  • Analytics data: kept according to the retention setting in the analytics service, which we set to the shortest period that still lets us see useful trends.
  • Messages you send us: kept while we deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you follow up, then deleted.
  • Cookies: each cookie has its own expiry date. Essential cookies typically last from the end of your session up to a year. Third-party cookies follow the partner’s own settings.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • ask whether we hold personal data about you and get a copy of it
  • ask us to correct data that is wrong
  • ask us to delete your data
  • object to or restrict certain uses of your data
  • withdraw consent you have given, such as for cookies
  • receive your data in a portable format
  • complain to your local data protection authority

Even if your local law does not give you these rights, we will still consider any reasonable request to see or delete data we hold about you.

To make a request, contact us through the contact details provided on this site. We may need to ask for some information to confirm the request is genuinely yours. We will not charge you for a reasonable request, and we aim to respond within one month.

Bear in mind that a site like this holds very little that is tied to a named person. In many cases the only data linked to you will be a short-lived server log entry or a cookie in your own browser, which you can delete yourself.

Controlling Cookies Yourself

You do not have to rely on us. Every major browser lets you:

  • view and delete cookies
  • block third-party cookies
  • block all cookies from specific sites
  • browse in a private window that clears cookies when closed

Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working properly, but you will still be able to read articles.

Children

This site covers competitive gaming and esports for a general audience. It is not aimed at young children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13, or under the age set by the law where they live. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we handle, including serving the site over HTTPS and limiting who can access server logs and site systems. No website can promise perfect security, but we keep the data we collect to a minimum, which also limits what could ever be exposed.

International Visitors

Our hosting and partner services may store or process data in countries other than the one you live in. Where that happens, we rely on those providers to use the safeguards required by applicable law for international data transfers.

Links to Other Sites

Articles may mention or point to other websites, game publishers, tournament organisers and platforms. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Check their policies before giving them any personal information.

Changes to This Policy

As the site grows, we may add new features, tools or partners. When that happens we will update this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top. If a change significantly affects how we use your data, we will make it clear on the site.

Contact

If you have a question about this policy or want to make a privacy request, please reach out through the contact details listed on this site. We read every message and will reply as quickly as we can.
