The biggest results from October 24

The day had no titles and no confirmed eliminations, because all three events were still in their group phases. Several results still shift the picture for the week ahead. Here are the ones you should know first, ranked by how much they change the standings.

  1. Gen.G 1-0 Hanwha Life Esports (Worlds). This was the marquee all-LCK meeting of the day. The win gives Gen.G the head-to-head edge over a domestic rival that it could meet again in the knockout rounds.
  2. LYON goes 2-0 on the day (Worlds). LYON beat Karmine Corp and then Team Secret Whales. No other League team won twice on October 24.
  3. BetBoom Team 2-1 Spirit (PGL Masters). Spirit was the bigger name on paper, and BetBoom took the decider. It was one of three CS2 series that went the full distance.
  4. Liquid 2-1 MOUZ (PGL Masters). MOUZ is one of the most consistent sides on the circuit, which makes a group-stage loss to Liquid more meaningful than a single map result.
  5. Natus Vincere 2-0 G2 (PGL Masters). This was a clean sweep between two teams that both arrived with playoff expectations.
  6. Team Spirit 2-0 BetBoom Team (Dota 2, PARI Universe). The Dota roster put the organisation back on top in this matchup only hours after the CS2 side lost to BetBoom.

Shotcaller's note

Five of the eight CS2 series ended 2-0, and only three needed a third map. In Dota 2, three of the four series were also sweeps, so in most matches on October 24 the stronger team never let a decider happen.

League of Legends: Worlds group stage

Worlds produced seven single-game results, and the LCK, LPL and LEC each had a team on both the winning and losing sides. If you are following the event across the full schedule, our Worlds 2026 LoL hub tracks the bracket as it fills out.

Result League Stage
Hanwha Life Esports 0-1 Gen.G Worlds Group Stage
Invictus Gaming 1-0 Team Secret Whales Worlds Group Stage
LYON 1-0 Karmine Corp Worlds Group Stage
G2 Esports 1-0 LOS Worlds Group Stage
CTBC Flying Oyster 0-1 Movistar KOI Worlds Group Stage
Top Esports 1-0 Anyone’s Legend Worlds Group Stage
Team Secret Whales 0-1 LYON Worlds Group Stage

Gen.G edges the LCK derby

Gen.G versus Hanwha Life Esports is the kind of match you normally see in a domestic final, so meeting this early at Worlds gives the result real weight. A single game will not decide either team’s run. It does, however, give Gen.G a head-to-head result that can matter for tiebreakers and seeding once the group stage wraps up.

LYON’s double and a rough day for Team Secret Whales

LYON was the only League team to play and win twice. The first win came against Team Secret Whales, and the second came against Karmine Corp, a European side with one of the loudest fanbases in the game. Those two games flip the story LYON entered the day with. Team Secret Whales went 0-2, losing first to LYON and then to Invictus Gaming, which leaves them with very little margin for the rest of the group stage.

Europe splits, the LPL derby goes to Top Esports

The LEC finished 2-1. G2 Esports beat LOS, and Movistar KOI beat CTBC Flying Oyster, while Karmine Corp dropped its game to LYON. In the all-LPL meeting, Top Esports beat Anyone’s Legend, and Invictus Gaming collected a win of its own. The LPL therefore had a winning day without having to beat anyone from outside China more than once.

Counter-Strike 2: PGL Masters group stage

October (outwinder)

PGL Masters played eight series, and the results split cleanly between favourites who swept and series that went all three maps. Many of these organisations, including Natus Vincere, G2 and Vitality, were already top names in the Counter Strike Global Offensive era, which is part of why the losses at the top end stand out.

Result League Stage
G2 0-2 Natus Vincere PGL Masters Group Stage
FURIA 2-0 DENDELE CS PGL Masters Group Stage
Vitality 2-0 9z PGL Masters Group Stage
Legacy 0-2 Nemiga PGL Masters Group Stage
Spirit 1-2 BetBoom Team PGL Masters Group Stage
MOUZ 1-2 Liquid PGL Masters Group Stage
Aurora Gaming 1-2 TheMongolz PGL Masters Group Stage
FUT Esports 2-0 TYLOO PGL Masters Group Stage

Three deciders, three significant results

The three series that went to a third map all had the team listed first lose:

  • BetBoom Team 2-1 Spirit. This is the result most likely to change how you read the group, because Spirit came in as the higher-profile roster.
  • Liquid 2-1 MOUZ. Liquid took the decider against a side that rarely drops early group games.
  • TheMongolz 2-1 Aurora Gaming. TheMongolz closed out a close series against a dangerous opponent.

PandaScore’s data for the day does not include map names or round scores, so this recap does not list which maps decided these series. If you want the round-by-round detail, check the official PGL match pages or HLTV.

The sweeps

Natus Vincere’s 2-0 over G2 was the headline sweep. FURIA, Vitality, Nemiga and FUT Esports also won without dropping a map, against DENDELE CS, 9z, Legacy and TYLOO respectively. Nemiga’s result is worth a closer look, because a clean win over Legacy shows the team can close out series at this level and is not only stealing maps.

Dota 2: PARI Universe groups A and B

PARI Universe ran four series across its two groups. Three ended 2-0.

Result League Stage
Astra Invicta 1-2 LEGION PARI Universe Group B
Team Spirit 2-0 BetBoom Team PARI Universe Group B
Team Yandex 2-0 OG PARI Universe Group A
1win 0-2 GamerLegion PARI Universe Group A

Group B: Team Spirit answers, LEGION survives

Team Spirit’s 2-0 over BetBoom Team is the cleanest statement result of the Dota day. It also sets up a neat contrast with PGL Masters, where the same two organisations met in CS2 and BetBoom won. LEGION needed all three games to beat Astra Invicta, which makes it the only Dota 2 series on October 24 that reached a decider.

Group A: Team Yandex and GamerLegion sweep

Team Yandex beat OG 2-0, and GamerLegion did the same to 1win. Both winners left Group A day one without dropping a game, which matters in any group format where game differential can separate tied teams.

Quick steps: reading these results correctly

  2. Treat Worlds 1-0 scores as single games.
  3. Read CS2 and Dota 2 scores as maps or games won.
  4. Confirm standings on official event pages.

What to watch next

All three events move deeper into their group phases after October 24. That puts more pressure on the teams that lost on the day: Team Secret Whales at Worlds, Spirit and MOUZ at PGL Masters, and OG and 1win at PARI Universe. Gen.G and LYON head into their next League games with momentum. In CS2, BetBoom Team and Liquid will be looking to show that their deciders were more than one-off results.

If you missed the earlier part of the week, the October 23 recap covers the League of Legends and Dota 2 results that came before this slate.
